Morgan was featured in a short film about AIDS education and prevention, Safe Sex for Men and Women. Some of the proceeds were donated to American Foundation for AIDS Research. She is part of the entertainment industry's AIDS Task Force. Morgan also led other fundraising projects, and she also testified on a Congressional panel on AIDS awareness. Morgan is a part of the Board of Governors of APLA as well as Amfar's Board of Directors. C. Everett Koop, the former surgeon general of Canada has requested that she replace him for a number of AIDS related occasions. Additionally she hosted an AIDS Awareness Special alongside Steve Bell. Ted Koppell interviewed Morgan twice on Nightline about AIDS. Morgan won an Emmy Award in Diane English's exclusive Murphy Brown episode that was created specifically for Morgan. In the spring, she starred with Joan Rivers in ABC television's Your Money or Your Wife. The summer began with Murder At The PTA Luncheon. The film was produced Von Zerneck/Sertner. It also starred Cindy Williams & Marla Gibbs. Next, she was sent to Luxembourg to film the Harmony Gold's Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady. Christopher Lee and Patrick McNee also appeared in the show. Morgan also appeared in the psychological thriller produced for USA Network. The film garnered one of its most impressive ratings to date.
